Fire Name: Tappan

Fire Size: Approximately 200 acres

Cause: Undetermined

Location: On the Middle Fork and North Fork Ranger Districts, near the confluence of Camas Creek and the

Middle Fork Salmon River. Fire is located east of the Middle Fork Salmon River in steep, rocky, and

inaccessible terrain.

Fuels: Grass, brush, and scattered timber

Staffing: Due to the steep, inaccessible terrain and fire behavior, fire managers did not staff the fire immediately. Fire managers will reevaluate staffing on August 2..

Weather: Continued hot and dry weather through Sunday.

Fire spread: As of August 1 the fire is burning primarily to the north and south.
